Hi, I am a private tutor based in Singapore, specialising in secondary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics, with more than 7 years of experience as a freelance tutor.
Having studied Computer Science in university, I adopt a blended learning approach where I incorporate useful tech tools in my lessons, where appropriate.
My approach is to develop a holistic understanding of mathematics, beyond memorising formulas, while learning how some concepts are applicable in real-life situations. Lessons are tailored according to each student’s strengths and weaknesses in a carefully curated and progressive manner.

pedagogical framework
1. Introduction
Students acquire knowledge of each new topic at the macro level. Relevant mathematical apps are incorporated into lessons to supplement their understanding.
2. Familiarisation
For each new concept, we will go through a worked example at the micro level. At this stage, step-by-step guidance is provided for students to gain familiarity and confidence.
3. Application
After each worked example, students demonstrate understanding of that specific concept by attempting practice questions. When mistakes are made at this stage, any blindspots can be addressed immediately.
4. Mastery
Mastery of each topic is established only upon successful completion of a topical quiz with no prompting. Reinforcement of concepts will take place as necessary and students will be reassessed till a satisfactory standard is reached.
5. Agility
Modular quizzes expose students to a variety of questions across different topics. This stage is an important intermediary step in letting students strengthen their mental agility and stamina.
6. Strategy
Students will sit for mock exams under simulated conditions to prepare for any major exams. At this stage, students are trained to manage their time efficiently and present their solutions as concisely as possible.
